In this book, the author Nora Andries has beautifully reconstructed early forerunners of binche lace from the Carolus-Boromäus Church in Antwerp. The reconstructed lace shows how versatile lace-making was in Flanders at the end of the 17th century and in the 18th century. The budded centrepieces emphasised by Henneberg, known here as bollettes, appear in large numbers and variations and are shown very clearly in all their details.
